Regulations Events Calendar
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the National Association of
Manufacturers (NAM) established the manufacturers Network on Chemical
Regulation (Network) in response to business concerns about the impact of REACH
(Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) and
other global chemical controls.
The purpose of the Network is to:
-
Disseminate information;
-
Identify issues of concern;
-
Share best practices;
-
Explore training needs; and
-
Leverage resources in areas pertaining to chemical-related regulations and
regulatory controls.
The Network will achieve its objectives by facilitating cooperation and
collaboration across industries, identifying existing and needed standards and
compliance programs, working together to inject scientific research into policy
debates, and encouraging a “risk based” approach rather than a “list based”
approach to chemical references in regulation.
The Network is open to participation from any affected stakeholder, including
representatives of industry, trade/professional associations, standards
developing organizations, code developing organizations, conformity assessment
bodies, government agencies, consumer groups, organized labor, and academia.
The intent is to create a highly inclusive forum with participation from a
range of perspectives that is not disproportionately dependent upon any single
interest, organization, or stakeholder group.
