The ANSI Workshop: Arbitration of RAND Disputes will build on
discussions that began during the
Legal Issues Forum, held in October 2013 as part of ANSI’s
World Standards Week.
The event will examine the incorporation of essential patents into standards,
including reasonable and non-discriminatory (RAND) terms, arbitration,
injunction, dispute resolution, and more.
After a brief introduction by Patricia Griffin, ANSI's vice president and
general counsel, an interactive panel session consisting of legal and industry
experts will be moderated by Professor Jorge Contreras of American University.
ANSI members and interested stakeholders including those from government,
industry, business, consumer groups, and academia are encouraged to attend and
share their perspectives, insights, and expertise on standard essential
patents, RAND, and arbitration.
