The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) is pleased to host the ISO/IEC/ITU World Standards Cooperation (WSC) Workshop on Transit Security. This Workshop will be held on October 4-5, 2007 at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

This international Workshop will bring together experts from around the world and from the global standards community to examine the key issues and challenges in this subject area, strategic approaches and solutions, standards currently being utilized for transit security, and investigate whether international standards need to play a more prominent role in supporting the transit security community.

There is no registration fee for this Workshop, but pre-registration is required. Attendees to the meeting are requested to send an e-mail to Jessica Carl (jcarl@ansi.org) confirming their attendance as soon as possible, but no later than September 4, 2007. As the Workshop will be held at a government facility, foreign nationals will need to be cleared in advance of the meeting for admittance to the facility.
