New York  June 18, 2012

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Chemical Network will host a one-hour teleconference on Thursday, June 21, 2012, to discuss emerging issues related to chemicals, the supply chain, and relevant regulations.

ANSI invites any stakeholders with an interest in these topics to join in this discussion:

Thursday, June 21, 2012
10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Eastern
1-866-469-3239
Access code: 25519770

Discussions are led by participants, and are expected to center on the following primary issues:

  • Standards update: status of existing standards, gaps
  • REACH and RoHS
  • Conflict minerals
  • Rare earth metals
  • Recent California legislation
  • India chemicals policy
  • Recent and upcoming conferences
  • Supply chain communication best practices: upstream and downstream

The monthly chemicals teleconference is an informal one-hour exchange of information for industry, government, academia, and other interested stakeholders from throughout the standardization community. Nearly 400 individuals currently participate in these complimentary, open discussions, which take place on the third Thursday of every month.

Dr. Richard J. Forselius from Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, a United Technologies Company, and Mr. Michael Kirschner, president of Design Chain Associates, LLC, will lead the monthly teleconference going forward as co-moderators.
