International Workshop on ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Standard Announced
August 10, 2012
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) will hold a workshop on ISO 26000, Guidance on social responsibility, on November 5-9, 2012, in Geneva. The event will provide the opportunity to exchange experiences on implementation of ISO 26000 around the world.
The ISO 26000 International Workshop will be divided into three elements, the second of which is open to all interested stakeholders:
ISO 26000, Guidance on social responsibility, is designed to assist public and private organizations in contributing to a more sustainable global economy by establishing common guidance on social responsibility concepts, definitions, and methods of evaluation. The International Standard was developed by the ISO Working Group on Social Responsibility (ISO/WG SR) [see related news item]. The ANSI-accredited U.S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG) to the ISO SR working group is administered by the American Society for Quality (ASQ).
ISO 26000 is available on the ANSI webstore.
As the U.S. member body to ISO, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) encourages all interested stakeholders to attend. The event will take place at Palexpo (Grand-Saconnex, 1218 Geneva, Switzerland). Registration is required.
