IEC 2010 - General Meeting of the International

The United States National Committee (USNC) to the International
Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) has announced its intention to host the 2010
IEC General Meeting, which will be held from October 6-15, 2010 in Seattle,
Washington. The ten day event is expected to draw more than 1,500 delegates and
750 accompanying persons from around the globe for technical and policy
discussions that will influence the electrotechnical community and its
activities in international standardization.
The opportunity to host the 2010 IEC General Meeting will allow the U.S.
electrotechnical industry to:

reaffirm U.S. commitment to international standardization
-
create opportunities for U.S. industry to participate in standards activities
that promote global market access
-
raise awareness of IEC international standards to U.S. industry
-
foster international cooperation in electrotechnical standards activities
Additional background information about the
IEC 2010
The IEC General Meeting and related technical committee meetings are planned for October
6-15, 2010, in Seattle, Washington. Contributions will be used to
support the USNC/IEC in hosting the IEC 2010 General Meeting and other
international IEC policy, management, and technical meetings, as appropriate.
Thirty leading companies, groups, and organizations have already made financial
commitments to bringing this seminal meeting to the United States.
