Electric Vehicles Standards Panel (EVSP)
| Electric Vehicles Standards Panel Overview |
The ANSI Electric Vehicles Standards Panel (EVSP) is a cross-sector coordinating
body whose objective is to foster coordination and collaboration on
standardization matters among public and private sector stakeholders to enable
the safe, mass deployment of electric vehicles and associated infrastructure in
the United States with international coordination, adaptability, and
engagement.
The EVSP has developed a strategic roadmap of the standards and conformity assessment programs needed to facilitate the widespread acceptance and
deployment of electric vehicles. The panel also provides on behalf of ANSI coherent and coordinated U.S. policy and technical input to relevant regional
and international audiences on needed standards and conformity assessment programs in this area. In addition, the panel
coordinates as appropriate with other electric vehicle initiatives that are being undertaken.

The EVSP provides a forum for the development of the public-private partnership
needed to facilitate the large scale introduction of electric vehicles into the
market. Participation in the EVSP is open to all affected parties. Participants
include representatives of the automotive, electrotechnical and utilities
industries, relevant trade associations, standards development and conformity
assessment organizations, government agencies, and academia, providing a range
of perspectives. The panel is funded via participation fees to offset ANSI’s
costs of administering the work.
To join the EVSP, please review the participation information below and return
the participation response form to evsp@ansi.org.
You will need to indicate on the form your organization’s intention to join the
panel and pay the appropriate fee, the names of your representatives and the
working groups that they wish to participate in. In addition, you may indicate
if your organization wishes to take a leadership role by seeking nomination to
serve on the Steering Committee or as a working group co-chair.
Participants are also asked to sign and return the copyright form below. We will
be happy to work with organizations that may wish to propose a modification to
the form to suit their needs.
The EVSP Document Library contains documents relating to the work of the panel.
See above under participation for information about joining the EVSP. If you are
not already a member of ANSI, find out more about the
benefits of ANSI membership.
