ANSI Homeland Security Standards Panel
 |
The American National Standards Institute's Homeland Security Standards Panel
(ANSI-HSSP) has as its mission to identify existing consensus standards, or, if
none exist, assist the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and those sectors
requesting assistance to accelerate development and adoption of consensus
standards critical to homeland security. The ANSI-HSSP promotes a positive,
cooperative partnership between the public and private sectors in order to meet
the needs of the nation in this critical area.

Organizational Resilience Standard Implementation Course
Organizational
resilience management is an increasingly complex challenge. Companies must
manage risks and assure resilience by identifying potential threats, assessing
risks, and implementing measures to prevent, respond to, and recover from
disruptive incidents. Make your organization and supply chain more resilient.
Learn how to implement and conduct internal audits to the ASIS Organizational
Resilience American National Standard: Security, Preparedness, and Continuity
Management Systems (ASIS
SPC.1—2009). There will be a course held July 15-17 in Alexandria, VA and July 29-31 in San Francisco, CA.
Established by ANSI in February 2003, per its
charter the ANSI-HSSP has as its scope to catalog, promote, accelerate
and coordinate the timely development of consensus standards within the
national and international voluntary standards systems intended to meet
identified homeland security needs, and communicate the existence of such
standards appropriately to governmental units and the private sector. The Panel
supports the work of the DHS Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate’s Office
of Standards.
Participation in the ANSI-HSSP is open to representatives of industry,
government, professional societies, trade associations, standards developers,
and consortia groups directly involved in U.S. Homeland Security
standardization.
