Overview
The first meeting of the ANSI-Nanotechnology Standards Panel (ANSI-NSP)
focusing on nomenclature and terminology in the area of nanotechnology will be
held on September 29-30, 2004, at the National Institute of Standards and
Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, MD.
This two-day event is sponsored jointly by the ANSI-NSP, in cooperation with
NIST and Rice University’s Center for Biological and Environmental
Nanotechnology (CBEN).
Program and Registration Information
Due to increased security, no on-site registrations will be accepted and all
attendees must be pre-registered. Valid photo identification must be presented
at the NIST main gate to be admitted to the meeting. Attendees must wear their
conference badge at all times while on the campus.
$199 Registration fee (includes admission, materials, breakfast, lunch and all
breaks)

Hotel Information
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hilton Washington, DC
North/Gaithersburg, (301) 977-8900. The special room rate is $109, plus 12%
tax. To register for a room, please call the hotel directly, no later than
September 13, 2004, and mention that you are attending the “ANSI Nanotechnology
Standards Panel”, or you can make a reservation on-line at
www.hilton.com under “Group/Convention Code”, enter ANS.
A block of rooms have also been reserved at the Gaithersburg Holiday Inn, (301)
948-8900. The special room rate is $99, plus 12% tax. To register for a room,
please call the hotel directly, no later than September 13, 2004, and mention
that you are attending the “ANSI Nanotechnology Standards Panel”.
After September 13, the rooms will be released for general sale at the
prevailing rates of the hotel. Reservations must be cancelled, in writing, by
4pm, day of arrival in order to receive a refund. Check-in time is 3:00 p.m.
and check-out time is prior to 12 noon.
