Join the Conversation on the Future of Standards: Evolving Standards Landscape Summit on October 12

The standards landscape is evolving faster now than ever before. Whether viewed as challenges or opportunities, this rapid evolution calls for a coordinated response. ANSI invites the U.S. standardization community to participate in an October 12 World Standards Week Summit to discuss, share, and recommend actions to keep the U.S. at the forefront of important standardization activities.

ANSI Releases September Edition of Government Relations and Public Policy Monthly Update

The report is part of the Institute’s ongoing efforts to empower ANSI members with information on the federal and Congressional developments impacting industry and the standardization community.

U.S. to Host Major International Gathering of Electrotechnology Experts

As host of the IEC 2022 General Meeting, the U.S. National Committee to the International Electrotechnical Commission reaffirms U.S. commitment to international standardization, creating opportunities for U.S. industry to participate in standards activities that promote global market access. The 86th IEC General Meeting will be held on October 31-November 4 in San Francisco. 

Registration Open: October 26-28 ANSI Workshop on Global Supply Chain Security for Microelectronics Standardization

ANSI has announced the opening of registration for its October 26-28 workshop on global supply chain security for microelectronics standardization, being held on behalf of the U.S. Department of Defense. Advance registration is requested by October 19.

Supporting Safer Sanitation: Call for U.S. Stakeholders Comments on Proposed Revision of ISO 30500, Sustainable Non-Sewered Sanitation Systems

ANSI, together with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, requests U.S.-based stakeholder input on a proposed revision to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) ISO 30500:2018, Non-sewered sanitation systems – Prefabricated integrated treatment units – General safety and performance requirements for design and testing. Respond to the new work item proposal by October 20.

ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) Accredits Alliance for Audited Media (AAM) to Certify in Accordance with Journalism Trust Initiative - Certification Programme

The accreditation supports greater trustworthiness in an era where it has become increasingly difficult to distinguish information shaped by vested interests from facts produced by independent and impartial news professionals.

People on the Move

People on the Move highlights the career advancements of high-level trail-blazers working professionally in diverse areas of standardization, contributing every day to the strength and success of the U.S. standards and conformance community. In this issue:

  • The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has named Dana Kamal as its new director, international business development (MENA – Middle East North Africa). 
  • The American Bankers Association has appointed Brooke Ybarra as its senior vice president of innovation and strategy.
