1Objective
1.1The objective of this notice is to provide clarification on the requirements for implementation of GHG-PR-706, ANSI GHG Validation and Verification Body Accreditation Scoping Policy for ANSI Accredited V/VBs.

4.1The ANSI GVAC (Greenhouse Gas Validation/Verification Accreditation Committee) has approved GHG-PR-706, ANSI GHG Validation and Verification Accreditation Scoping Policy. The objective of this policy is to define the scope of accreditation and the assessment requirements for the ANSI V/VB Accreditation Program. The following requirements and implementation timeline shall be required for all ANSI accredited V/VBs:
a)accredited V/VBs are required to submit a letter indicating the activities and sectors for which they provide validation/verification on or before December 7, 2009;
b)ANSI shall review this information against the results of previous office and witness assessments and shall inform the V/VB of the activities and sectors for which the V/VB conforms to ANSI requirements on January 26, 2010. This process will be inclusive of applications for scope extensions current at the time of this notice;
c)a GVAC ETG (Evaluation Task Group) shall review the implementation of the new scoping requirements against the review completed by ANSI and recommend an opinion for consideration by the GVAC at its March 8, 2010 meeting;
d)the GVAC shall vote on the new scope of accreditation for each ANSI accredited V/VB at its March 8, 2010 meeting;
e)current certificates of accreditation will expire on March 8, 2010. New certificates will be issued to all accredited V/VBs following the completion of the implementation of the new ANSI scope requirements.
