4Notice
4.1ISED has published a revision to its CB-02 which, in part, makes significant changes to the specification and identification of certification body scopes.
4.2Specifically, ISED has split the old ISED scope (a) into five scopes. These scopes are:
a)Radio Scope 1 – Licence-exempt Radio Frequency Devices;
b)Radio Scope 2 – Licensed Personal Mobile Radio Services;
c)Radio Scope 3 – Licensed General Mobile and Fixed Radio Services;
d)Radio Scope 4 – Licensed Maritime and Aviation Radio Services;
e)Radio Scope 5 – Licensed Fixed Microwave Radio Services.
4.3Additionally, the specification of old IC scope (b) has been changed to:
Broadcasting – All BETS in the Category I Equipment Standards List.
4.4Details regarding the specific standards within each scope can be found at:
http://www.ic.gc.ca/eic/site/smt-gst.nsf/eng/sf09888.html
4.5To implement these changes, ANSI will modify the certificates of existing accredited certification bodies with ISED scopes. To accomplish this modification ANSI is requesting that each accredited certification body with ISED scope (a) provide ANSI with a statement of the new radio scopes they wish to be listed on their certificates. Certification bodies with ISED scope (b) will have that scope listed on their revised certificates as indicated above.
4.6Accordingly, all certification bodies that are presently accredited by ANSI to ISEDscope (a) are requested to provide ANSI with a written notice that identifies which of these five radio scopes they wish to have listed on their revised certificate. If ANSI is not provided with this notice by September 1, 2011, all five scopes will be included on the revised certificate.
