Manager, Marketing

Position Summary

Develop and implement plans to improve the Subscription Sales business through lead generation, marketing programs, email campaigns, web presence, social media, pricing strategies and general product lifecycle management.

Develop and implement advertising strategies utilizing a flexible mix of media including ANSI websites, email, direct mail, trade shows, blogs and other media to support the strategic priorities of the Institute. Analyze and report on marketing campaign effectiveness. Represent ANSI to decision-making customers at trade shows.

Maintain a solid understanding of the product planning/management process, good knowledge of IT development / business intelligence / business process management environments and a broad understanding of the Standards/ Product Lifecycle industry.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and execute marketing plans; focus on strategy and tactics, targeting markets and industries relevant to subscription products
  • Conduct analysis, data mining and market research, analyze the impact of marketing and competitive environment on sales, web traffic and lead generation for business units;
  • Actively develop and expand joint marketing relationships with SDO’s and other business partnerships, foster SDO relations through collaboration and communication;
  • Research and coordinate with other departments on trade show efforts to ensure proper ANSI representation/knowledge is available;
  • Act as a liaison for web design, content and reports with IT;
  • Research, develop and manage advertising opportunities to improve ANSI’s visibility and branding within the market;
  • Analyze data and make necessary recommendations and enhancements for overall improvement.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Become the market expert for standards subscription products and key internal resource for market facts, data and communication
  • Analyze competitive and electronic trends with recommended plans for improvement and growth
  • Be prepared to represent the voice of the customer in all product development functions.


  • College degree or 6 years equivalent training in marketing
  • 10+ years of experience with specialized knowledge of the online marketing function
  • Clear expression in written and verbal communications
  • Able to independently prioritize and make judgments
  • Marketing management including competitive analysis, advertising and marketing communications, and financial analysis
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Access or SQL, Word, Outlook, CRM, NetTracker (or other web analytical software)
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis, database and web analytical tools
  • Knowledge of online advertising and campaign management
  • General knowledge of web technologies and trends, computer network technologies, and search engine ranking algorithms
