ISO/IEC 17020 and Audit Preparation Workshop for Forensic Police Agencies

Attend this two-day introductory workshop to aid in the general preparation for ISO/IEC 17020 as it pertains to forensic police units. Learn about the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), ISO standards, the hierarchy in the world of ISO accreditation, and the hierarchy in standards. This course narrows the focus of ISO/IEC 17020 to specific criteria for forensic police units. This includes crime scene investigations, friction ridge examinations, firearms, handwriting analysis, anthropology, and digital computer analysis.

ISO/IEC 17025 and Audit Preparation Workshop for Forensic Test Agencies

Attendees of this three-day workshop will obtain a general overview of ISO/IEC 17025 as it relates to forensic test agencies. All of the elements of the standard will be reviewed. The standard's applicability, origin, purpose and marketplace will be discussed. Some of the more important concepts, such as document control, internal auditing, proficiency testing, traceability and measurement, and method witnessing, will be reviewed. There will also be a discussion on the international oversight of the standard and recognition. This workshop is intended for those agencies that have crime laboratories that do analytical forensic chemistry.
