The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) is pleased to announce that it has engaged Cactus Commerce for the Institute's website redesign effort. Broad in scope, this project includes the redesign and re-engineering of the Institute's systems architecture, web presence, document delivery, and e-commerce capabilities.

"In redesigning ANSI's web properties, our goal is to provide our members, customers, and visitors with an intuitive interface and improved end-user experience while arming ANSI staff with enhanced tools and capabilities that will help us to work better and smarter in all that we do," said S. Joe Bhatia, ANSI president and CEO. "We are very excited to work with Cactus on this critical project, and I look forward to hearing continued feedback from our members about how our website can better serve their needs."

The Institute reached out to its membership in the summer of 2009 with a survey to gather information on what website features were most useful, and what features were needed or desired. Results of this survey informed the criteria that ANSI established for the website redesign, including a more consistent brand presence, improved access and retrieval of data, faster and more accurate search functionality, and access to ANSI services and resources through multiple channels, including wireless, XML, and social media applications.

The website redesign project is slated to kick off in March.

ANSI is currently seeking volunteer members, stakeholders, and those who frequently buy standards through the ANSI webstore to contribute their opinion on elements of the web redesign. Specifically, the group will be asked to provide input and feedback on site features during the development and testing phases of the project. Interested participants should contact Ken Peabody, ANSI director of content management (212.642.8908; kpeabody@ansi.org).
