The newly revised ISO/IEC Guide 41- Packaging- Recommendations for addressing consumer needs will provide better guidance to product designers, manufacturers, regulators, and other stakeholders involved in decision making related to packagingincluding standards developers. Published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), the document is available in the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) webstore. ANSI is the U.S. member body to ISO.
The updated version of the guide, developed by ISO/COPOLCO Working Group 16, the ISO committee on consumer policy, features more detailed information on risk assessment, vulnerable consumers' needs, cost reduction, use of resources, and suitability for intended purpose, and recycling, according to Christine Heemskerk, Co-Convenor of the ISO Working Group, as ISO reports.
