As the U.S. member body to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), ANSI is seeking to identify a U.S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG) administrator organization for a new ISO technical committee (TC) 332 on security equipment for financial institutions and commercial organizations.

U.S. stakeholders were consulted in the spring of 2020, and subsequently, the U.S. voted to approve the proposal. After the proposal received the necessary support within the ISO community, ISO TC 332 was formed with the following scope:

Standardization in the field of safes, cash boxes, strong room doors and safe deposit locker cabinets, ventilation equipment for strong room used in banks, financial institutions and commercial organization etc.

The standards formulated by this technical committee deals with specification and test methods of physical security products used in banks, financial institutions, commercial organization and by jewelers.

Excluded are the fields covered by ISO/TC 68 (Financial services)

A list of participating and observing members can be found via ISO. As no U.S. TAG has yet been established, the U.S. is currently an observing member. ISO TC 332 will convene for its first meeting in December 2020.

Any U.S. organization interested in serving as the U.S. TAG Administrator to ISO TC 332 should contact isot@ansi.org by December 1, 2020.
