Supported by the ANSI Manufacturer Member Roundtable and co-hosted by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the Standardization Administration of China (SAC), the workshop was organized by the China National Institute of Standardization (CNIS) and sponsored by Intertek Group.
Energy efficiency and related requirements have been a priority topic for the ANSI Manufacturer Member Roundtable. The June 2 workshop follows a series of meetings and briefings held over the past year with CNIS and other relevant Chinese government agencies. [See related summary reports]

During the workshop's morning plenary meeting and two afternoon seminars, participants examined standards and guidelines for energy savings determination, as well as case studies for developing and implementing energy efficiency standards. The day's events included presentations from experts in the U.S., Chinese, and European energy communities.
