A champion of standards and conformance as the building blocks of international trade, Ms. Cassedy served as executive director of ACIL - a national trade organization of independent certification and testing firms and suppliers - from 1999 until 2007 when she joined the staff of the Promotional Products Association International as a consultant on international trade.
Ms. Cassedy joined the ANSI Board of Directors in 2001 representing organizational members and was subsequently elected a director-at-large. During her tenure, she chaired ANSI's Conformity Assessment Policy Committee (CAPC) and served on the Board Committee on Conformity Assessment (BCCA). A member of the National Policy Committee (NPC) and the ANSI Homeland Security Standards Panel (HSSP), she also served on the Board's Executive, Finance, and Nominating Committees.
Ms. Cassedy was an active member of the Industry Functional Advisory Committee (IFAC) on Standards for Trade Policy Matters and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Committee of 100. She also served as vice chairman of the Industry Technical Advisory Committee 16 on Standards and Technical Trade Barriers, a joint advisory committee to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce and U.S. Trade Representative.
A former president of the American News Women's Club, she received the Wharton Club of DC's Joseph Wharton Award in 2004.
