The winners of the paper competition were announced during the 2013 U.S. Celebration of World Standards Day, which took place on Thursday, October 3, at the Fairmont Hotel in Washington, D.C. [see related story]. Ms. Brigida was awarded a plaque and a prize of $2,500, while Ms. Acker and Mr. Bocchiaro received $1,000 and $500, respectively, along with certificates. All three winning papers will be published in an upcoming issue of Standards Engineering, SES's journal.
