The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) are pleased to recognize the students and faculty advisor from Purdue University for their first-place finish at the joint ANSI-NIST international standards simulation competition held on Monday, October 24, 2016. The University of Maryland team finished in a close second.
ANSI and NIST congratulate and thank all the students, faculty advisors, and participants for the energy and intellect they contributed to the highly successful event.
The competition brought university teams together to develop a new, fictional globally relevant voluntary standard related to industrial communication systems during a simulated session, which tested each participant’s strategy and negotiation skills.
The event was part of the World Standards Week (WSW) series of meetings and celebrations hosted annually by ANSI, coordinator of the U.S. voluntary standardization system.
