IEEE 1857.5-2015, Standard for Advanced Mobile Speech and Audio, is a set of tools to support specific audio coding functions including ACELP/TVC compression, bandwidth extension, stereo coding, and frame erasure concealment. The tool set defined in this standard provides high quality and efficient coding tool sets for compression, decompression, processing, and representation of speech, music, or mixed audio signals to save transmission bandwidth and storage space.
An ANSI member and accredited standards developer, IEEE is a nonprofit organization that develops and publishes over 900 standards relating to electronics, a broad field in today's modern world. Headquartered in New York City, IEEE has over 400,000 members in over 160 countries.
Process piping refers to piping systems and their counterparts, typically used in industrial and manufacturing environments. Piping systems are utilized in chemical, petrochemical, biochemical, specialty chemical, food, pharmaceutical, and agricultural applications, and require safe operation.
A newly revised standard by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), ASME B31.3, Process Piping, has many significant changes from the 2014 edition. The document contains requirements for piping typically found in petroleum refineries; chemical, pharmaceutical, textile, paper, semiconductor, and cryogenic plants; and related processing plants and terminals. It covers materials and components, design, fabrication, assembly, erection, examination, inspection, and testing of piping.
This standard is intended for manufacturers, users, constructors, designers, and others concerned with the design, use, and testing of piping, plus all potential governing entities.
