On May 9 - 11, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) provided training for the Instituto Nacional De Normalizacion (INN), the National Standardization Institute of Chile.
Phillip Mariscal of ANSI and Stephan Wehr of Delphi Group were co-trainers for the three-day event, which helped prepare INN for the development of an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14065 accreditation program to oversee the work of third-party greenhouse gas (GHG) validation and verification bodies in Chile.
ANSI is the U.S. member body to ISO.
"ANSI and INN have collaborated on the potential development of a program in Chile in the past, so it is great to see the program progressing alongside Chile's implementation of GHG commitments," said Ann Howard, director of environmental accreditation at ANSI.
ANSI and INN intend to continue to work together on the implementation of the program to allow for more consistency in the accreditation process internationally and also to build capacity internationally.
