Underwriters Laboratories (UL), a member and audited designator of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has announced that Terrence Brady is its new president. Keith Williams will continue to serve as UL's chief executive officer and UL's for-profit business chief executive officer and president.
Mr. Brady has been with UL since 2012, most recently in the role of senior vice president, chief commercial and legal officer, and secretary. Before his work at UL, Mr. Brady was an associate and partner in the Chicago office of Winston & Strawn, LLP, where he worked for 27 years. He concentrated his practice in mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, and corporate governance.
"Our mission and the work we do in the not-for-profit organization are vitally important to UL, and Terry is the right person to drive the strategy forward," said James Shannon, chair of the UL Board of Trustees. "The board unanimously agreed Terry's leadership expertise made him the right choice for this dynamic role."
