The University of Pennsylvania has launched educational web resources focused on voluntary codes and standards, as part of a grant from the U.S. Commerce Department's National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The five course modules are a project of the Penn Program on Regulation that offers resources for faculty to integrate attention to technical codes and standards into the curriculum of core and elective courses in law school or public policy graduate programs.
The course modules include:
The course, "Introduction to Codes and Standards," features YouTube videos with expert insights from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)'s Mary Saunders, vice president, government relations, and public policyin addition to lessons from several ANSI members.
The site also features case studies on Standard Essential Patents and general background materials on codes and standards.
