ASTM Announces Leaders of New Exo Technology Center of Excellence
ASTM International, an ANSI member and audited designator, has announced that Humotech and the Exoskeleton Report were co-selected in a worldwide competition to lead ASTM's new Exo Technology Center of Excellence.
The center will support innovation in the emerging exoskeletons and exosuits industry through standards-focused research and related activities. Humotech and the Exoskeleton Report will lead efforts to advance technical standards, research and development, workforce training and education, and more.
"There has never been a greater need for a collaboration that supports standards and other technical tools and resources in the exo technologies space," said Katharine Morgan, president of ASTM International. "This center will bring the right leaders and experts into the room - including those in our fast-growing exoskeletons and exosuits committee - to fill technical gaps so that we can put this technology to work for patients, factory workers, the military, and other groups of people."

AAMA Webinar to Inform on TDI Windstorm Program Requirements
In the midst of the 2019 Atlantic hurricane season, ANSI member and accredited standards developer the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) is holding a webinar on the Texas Department of Insurance's (TDI) Windstorm Program requirements for fenestration products.
The free one-hour webinar, scheduled for November 12, will inform manufacturers of the latest information on the TDI, which adopts building specifications, certifies that structures are insurable against windstorm and hail losses, and provides inspection and evaluation services. The session will cover how to operate in 14 Texas counties in a designated catastrophe area along the Gulf Coast, with relevant building code requirements, requirements for fenestration products, common issues associated with submittals and evaluations, and more.

ASIS Releases Guidelines on Security Management through Business Leader and Security Professional Partnership
ASIS International, an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, has published a new document that guides business leaders and security professionals in partnership as a strategic security management tool.
The "Enterprise Security Risk Management (ESRM) Guideline" allows users to identify, evaluate, and mitigate the likelihood or impact of security risks, positioning the security professional as an advisor that helps to guide business owners in making security risk management decisions. The guideline gives priority to protective activities that help the organization in advancing its mission. Security professionals following the ESRM are encouraged to understand the context of an organization's mission and vision, core values, operating environment, and stakeholders, in order to best support their strategic goals while managing security risks.

MASB Article Series Covers Sponsorship Accountability
The Marketing Accountability Standards Board (MASB), an ANSI member, has published several articles as part of an ongoing series on sponsorship accountability.
The articles outline emerging interest among marketers in managing a portfolio of sponsorships with consideration given to analytics and information on how sponsorships help create quality impressions and fulfill marketing objections. They cover how to improve the accountability of sponsorships and identify practices that improve value, including use of an independent, objective measurement approach. Topics include strategy and brand fit, business case and contractual considerations, activation and stewardship, and measurement.
