Working Group Co-Chairs Appointed to Lead ANSI Energy Efficiency Standardization Coordination Collaborative Activity

11/13/2012

Stakeholders are invited to join the EESCC and contribute to the development of a standardization roadmap

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Energy Efficiency Standardization Coordination Collaborative (EESCC) is pleased to announce the appointment of eight working group (WG) co-chairs who will help lead the development of an EESCC standardization roadmap addressing energy efficiency in the built environment.

These individuals, all recognized experts in their fields, will lead the EESCC working groups in the development of a roadmap intended to identify what standards, codes, and conformance solutions are currently available, where gaps may exist, and what additional standardization activities may be needed to advance energy efficiency in the United States.

Chief among the EESCC's goals are to increase awareness, adoption, and implementation of standards, codes, and conformance activities among policy makers and the market.

The following individuals have been named as the EESCC working group chairs:

  • Stephanie Reiniche, Manager of Standards, ASHRAE

WG2: Systems integration and communications
(encompassing communications between building automation/operation systems, equipment, and the electric grid)

WG3: Building energy modeling, rating, and labeling
(includes whole building modeling from design to construction, as well as rating and labeling for energy performance)

WG4: Evaluation, measurement, and verification
(encompassing EM&V; energy performance metrics; and standardized and portable data collection and reporting)

WG5: Workforce credentialing
(including standards for workforce training and certification programs, and workforce skills standards)

The working group co-chairs will also serve on the EESCC steering committee and provide overall planning and strategic direction for the EESCC and its deliverables.

On the Horizon: Working Group Web Conferences Dates
The dates of the biweekly EESCC working group teleconferences will be announced shortly. During these web meetings, the working groups will begin the standards needs assessment for their relevant areas and lay the groundwork for their portion of the standardization roadmap. All EESCC working groups will then convene in person in January for a full plenary meeting to synthesize input and coordinate next steps for the roadmap.
