People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards community.

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), an organizational member and accredited standards developer of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has announced the appointment of Brian Dickson to the newly created position chief of corporate solutions and strategic partnerships. In his new role, Mr. Dickson will develop and implement SHRM's corporate sales and training programs and oversee strategic business partnerships.

Prior to joining SHRM, Mr. Dickson served as a vice president at Celerant Consulting, a partner at Federal Management Partners, an account executive for IBM Business Consulting Services, a partner for PriceWaterhouseCoopers Consulting, and a foreign service officer for the U.S. State Department. He holds a master's degree in foreign service with a concentration in national security studies from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Wabash College in Indiana.

"I'm looking forward to working with my SHRM colleagues to expand SHRM's engagement with corporations, governments, and non-profit organizations," said Mr. Dickson.

SHRM is the world's largest association devoted to human resource management, representing more than 250,000 members in over 140 countries. The society serves the needs of human resource professionals and advances their interests through leadership, education, research, advocacy, partnerships, and other activities.


Matthew Kazmierczak has been named senior vice president and interim director of TechAmerica Foundation, a non-profit, non-partisan affiliate of ANSI organizational member and accredited standards developer TechAmerica. Mr. Kazmierczak's appointment comes in light of the departure of the foundation's president, Christopher W. Hansen, who left to become president of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network.

Mr. Kazmierczak previously served as senior vice president, operations, at TechAmerica. Prior to that he was vice president for AeA's research department and worked for U.S. Representative Norman Mineta (D-San Jose, CA). He has a master's degree in public policy from Georgetown University and dual bachelor's degrees in economics and political science from the University of California, Irvine.
