People on the Move

9/01/2017

People on the Move highlights the career advancements of high-level trailblazers working professionally in diverse areas of standardization, contributing every day to the strength and success of the U.S. standards and conformance community.

The College of American Pathologists (CAP), a member of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has announced that Stephen Myers is its new CEO.

Mr. Myers joined the CAP in 2003 as vice president of finance, and subsequently assumed the roles of chief administrative and financial officer in 2011, and chief financial and operating officer in 2013. He has been serving as the CAP's interim CEO for the past year. Prior to his career at the CAP, Mr. Myers worked in public accounting and technology innovation.

"With 14 years of financial and operating leadership experience at the CAP, Stephen is well-positioned to build on the organization's membership strength and financial stability," said CAP president Richard C. Friedberg. "The CAP is a unique hybrid of a membership organization and a solutions provider for laboratory improvement. Stephen has been instrumental in making the model successful and he is the right choice to take it to the next level."

The Edison Electric Institute (EEI), an ANSI member, has promoted Philip D. Moeller to executive vice president, business operations group and regulatory affairs. He is succeeding David K. Owens following his retirement.

Prior to assuming this role, Mr. Moeller was EEI's senior vice president, a role that he has held since February 2016. Previously, he served two terms as a Commissioner with the Federal Energy Regulatory Committee.

"Phil's knowledge, leadership, and considerable and diverse energy and public policy experience are critical for EEI and our member companies, particularly during this time of industry transformation," said Tom Kuhn, EEI president. "We look forward to Phil's ongoing leadership in his new position."
