ANSI's Unmanned Aircraft Systems Standardization Collaborative to Hold First Meeting
ANSI's Unmanned Aircraft Systems Standardization Collaborative (UASSC) will hold its inaugural meeting on Thursday, September 28, in Washington, DC.
The UASSC will work to coordinate and accelerate the development of the standards and conformity assessment programs needed to facilitate the safe, mass integration of UAS - commonly known as drones - into the national airspace system of the United States. The collaborative will also focus on international coordination and adaptability, with the goal of fostering the growth of the UAS market. The work effort will entail the development of a standardization roadmap to identify existing standards and standards in development, define where gaps exist, and recommend additional work that is needed, along with a timeline for its completion, and organizations that can perform the work.

ROHVA Offers Free ROV Safety E-Course
The
The two-hour interactive course provides key information on the risks of ROV operation and safe driving practices that can reduce the risk of injury. Participants will also be directed to resources where they can learn more about their particular vehicle. If users wish to complete the course in multiple sessions, they can stop and save their progress, later resuming where they left off. The course also includes an optional ROV safety quiz at the end, as well as Canada versions in English and French.

ATIS Publishes Two Resources on ICT Industry Cybersecurity
The Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS), an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, has published two free documents on securing critical network infrastructures against cyber threats.
Cybersecurity Architectural Risk Analysis Process provides proactive steps based on industry best practices that stakeholders can take to mitigate cybersecurity attacks. The document also includes guidance on determining security goals and assessing potential risks.
Securing Internet of Things (IoT) Services Involving Network Operations outlines the different levels of partnering that can occur between network operators and IoT service providers in relation to security concerns with the rapid growth of IoT services. The white paper provides practices to proactively address security implications for each level of partnership.
"These two new documents will help service providers adopt a more proactive approach to cybersecurity by offering a systematic process to identify and address vulnerabilities at the service design stage," said ATIS president and CEO Susan Miller. "IoT cybersecurity, in particular, requires collaboration between device and network providers. These resources advance this dialog."

3-A Provides Free E-learning Modules
3-A, an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, offers a series of e-learning modules on a variety of topics for fabricators, processors, and regulatory sanitarians. Each module takes about one hour to complete, and includes real-world visuals, informative diagrams, and narrated slides, along with interactive quizzes. Participants can print a certificate of completion at the end of each module.
The modules are:

- Basics of Hygienic Equipment Design
- Basics of Hygienic Facility Design & Environmental Controls
- Basics of Cleaning and Sanitizing
