ANSI Seeks Comments on New ISO Field of Activity on Collaborative Business Relationship Management

Stakeholder Comments Due by September 30

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has circulated a proposal for a new field of activity on collaborative business relationship management. As the U.S. member body to ISO, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) invites all relevant and interested stakeholders to submit comments on the proposal by the end of the business day on Friday, September 30, 2016.

The proposal, submitted by the UK's Mick Maghar, Secretary of ISO Project Committee (PC) 286 Collaborative business relationship management -- Framework, calls for the development of additional guidance related to , Collaborative business relationship management systems- Framework, which was developed by ISO PC 286. The supporting documents needed are outlined in the proposal, as is a listing of relevant countries impacted by this field of work. The BSI Group, the UK member body to ISO, holds the secretariat of ISO PC 286 and is committed to providing the new Technical Committee (TC) Secretariat if it is approved.

All interested stakeholders are invited to review the proposal, which includes listings of relevant standards as well as affected stakeholder categories that may benefit from by the proposal.

Please submit comments to Steve Cornish, ANSI senior director of international policy ([email protected]), by close of business on Friday, September 30, 2016. Based on the input received, the ANSI ISO Council (AIC) will then be asked to approve an ANSI position and comments to be submitted to ISO before its December 16, 2016, deadline for voting on this proposal.

ANSI has published an explanatory information document outlining the process used to develop U.S. positions on issues and activities under consideration by ISO and IEC.
