March 19 SES Webinar on Publication of Standards and Related Materials as eBooks and Mobile Apps
ANSI member and accredited standards developer SES - The Society for Standards Professionals will hold a webinar focused on the use of eBooks and mobile apps as avenues for the distribution of voluntary consensus standards. The webinar will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. eastern, and will be led by Ron Jones, vice president, business development, for IDS America Inc. Mr. Jones will examine methods of structuring standards-related content released as eBooks or mobile apps to include video and audio elements, among other related topics.

NIST Issues Call for Comments on Cryptographic Standards Development Process
The U.S. Department of Commerce (DoC)'s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) recently released a new draft document providing information about its approaches to developing standards related to cryptography. The agency is seeking public feedback on the document, NIST Cryptographic Standards and Guidelines Development Process (NIST IR 7977), which was issued as part of a larger review of NIST's cryptographic standards process.
In connection with NIST IR 7977, the agency has asked stakeholders to provide feedback in connection with the following questions related to its cryptographic standards development process:

USGBC Announces 20,000th LEED Certification for a Commercial Project
ANSI member and accredited standards developer the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) recently announced the certification of a facility operated by Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. in Knoxville, Tennessee, under its LEED for Commercial Interiors (LEED-CI) ratings system. This marks the 20,000th LEED certification given by the council in connection with a commercial project.
The Knoxville plant, which is one of seven LEED-certified facilities operated by Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, features water-efficient fixtures and a highly efficiency heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system, and was constructed using building materials that included nearly 25% recycled content. More than 50% of the plant's electricity is generated using renewable power sources, and efficient lighting controls and fixtures significantly reduce electricity waste associated with lighting needs.
