People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards community.

American National Standards Institute (ANSI) member and accredited standards developer (ASD) IPC — Association Connecting Electronics Industries has named Peter Chiang to the position of vice president at its IPC China division. Mr. Chiang will assist Phil Carmichael, the president of IPC China, in leading the division's Chinese operations, and will serve as chief representative for Taiwan, providing standards development support and boosting awareness of IPC in the region.

Prior to joining IPC, Mr. Chiang was employed by Lexmark Asia Pacific Corp. and Wang Industrial Co. Ltd., among other companies. He received a bachelor of science degree in computer science from Taiwan's National Taipei Commercial College.

IPC is a global association dedicated to supporting the excellence and financial success of its 3,300 members, which represent all aspects of electronics. As a member-driven organization and leading source for industry standards, training, market research, and public policy advocacy, IPC supports programs to meet the needs of an estimated $2.17 trillion global electronics industry.


ANSI organizational member and ASD the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) has promoted Karen Redfern to the position of senior director of marketing communications. Ms. Redfern will work to provide oversight related to RVIA's marketing communications work, as well as its Go RVing program. She is also expected to continue her work in digital media following her promotion.

Ms. Redfern has previously served as RVIA's director of publications and consumer relations and as the association's public relations manager. She has also been employed by the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC)'s ARVC Foundation as its executive director and director of publications. She earned her bachelor of arts degree in public relations, marketing, and economics from Massachusetts' Simmons College.

RVIA is a national trade organization representing recreational vehicle (RV) manufacturers and their suppliers. The association provides free materials to the public regarding the benefits of RV travel and camping and maintains an inspection program that monitors compliance of plumbing, heating, electrical, and other systems in RVs built by its members.
