Did You Know? offers a quick look at the broad scope of activities underway within the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Federation of members and partners, highlighting recent accomplishments and new resources related to standardization.

NSF Round Table Webinar Discussion to Address Certification for Textiles and Apparel Brands
NSF International, an ANSI member and audited designator, will hold a free webinar next month: "Why Textiles and Apparel Brands Are Relying on Certification Now More Than Ever."

The webinar will address the importance of transparency and traceability into who is making textiles, where, and how - information that has been identified as a critical weakness in light of the disruption that COVID-19 has caused to supply chains. According to NSF International, certification helps to establish visibility into networks and build strong relationships with suppliers, supporting the use of best practice standards and facilitating tracking of materials and impact data. A panel with participants from across the industry will discuss supply chain complexity, technology, and how to maintain momentum as an industry.

The webinar is scheduled for June 4 from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Eastern. See NSF's website to learn more and to register.

ASSP Offers Resources for Workplace Mental Health during Pandemic
The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, has published an article with resources to help employers promote mental health and well-being during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Employers and workers can view information on common work-related stress factors during the pandemic, and how to manage them or access help; general tips on promoting mental health awareness and stress management; suggestions for establishing a successful work-from-home routine; and the importance of an open dialogue and culture of acceptance surrounding mental health within the workplace.

See ASSP's news item for more information on each topic.

May is National Electrical Safety Month
The Electrical Safety Foundation International (EFSI) has published a number of resources on electrical safety in the home, school, and workplace to commemorate National Electrical Safety Month.

Held each May, National Electrical Safety Month is an annual campaign to educate stakeholders about steps that can be taken to reduce electrically-related fires, fatalities, injuries, and property loss. EFSI offers resources including fact sheets and safety tips, templates and tools, media outreach materials, and social media content for organizations to spread electrical safety ideas. This year's theme is "Smart Home," highlighting lifesaving devices that keep a home smart, safe, and secure.

Many ANSI members are sponsors and contributors to EFSI, including CSA, NECA, NEMA, NFPA, and UL. Learn more about National Electrical Safety Month on EFSI's website.
