ANAB and ACLASS Launch New Web Presence
ANAB and ACLASS, the two brands of the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board, have launched new websites that highlight their purpose, services, and benefits for stakeholders.

The ANAB site highlights key information on accreditation in a number of key areas, including aerospace, food safety, recycling, and telecom. Users can easily navigate to important documents, news, resources, and more through a toolbar at the top of the page.

The ACLASS site guides visitors to pages that detail laboratory accreditation, inspection body accreditation, product certifier accreditation, and more. The homepage also features links to issues of Quickbytes Newsletter and ACLASS highlights.

AIHA Announces Annual Conference for May 2010
The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), a member of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) will launch the annual American Industrial Hygiene Conference and Expo (AIHce) on May 22-27, 2010, in Denver.

The event will bring together professionals in the industrial hygiene and environmental health and safety (EHS) field to participate in engaging general sessions, innovative technical sessions, and comprehensive professional development courses.

NFPA Releases Customizable "Social Story" on Fire Safety for Children with Autism
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), an ANSI member and audited designator, has released a customizable storybook called "I Know My Fire Safety Plan" to help children on the autism spectrum learn about fire safety.

The "social story," a commonly used strategy of introducing new ideas to children with autism, allows children and parents to customize a story with the child's name and age, and then read through the story book as the main character demonstrates fire safety tips.

ISO and UNIDO Release Handbook on Conformity Assessment
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) have released a handbook entitled, Building Trust - The Conformity Assessment Toolbox.

The handbook, which is the latest in a series of joint publications by ISO and UNIDO, covers all aspects of conformity assessment and its role in international trade, and will be useful for business managers, regulators, and consumer representatives.

RESNA Launches New Website
The Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA), an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, has launched a website redesign.

The new website, launched in February, is designed to provide members with quick access to important information and capabilities. Special features include networking capabilities, member and ATP listings searches, information on technical activities and RESNA's history, and more.

ANSI ExSC Approves Accreditation of U.S. TAG on Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Sources
ANSI's Executive Standards Council (ExSC) has approved the accreditation of a new U.S. Technical Advisory Group to ISO/IEC/Joint Project Committee 2, Energy efficiency and renewable energy sources - common terminology, with the American National Standards Institute serving as TAG Administrator, effective March 17, 2010.
