6/26/2017

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) will host an event entitled "Standards and 21st Century Infrastructure," on Monday, July 17, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30p.m., in Washington DC. The Capitol Hill event will provide expert insights on infrastructure challenges, and highlight the role of voluntary standards and conformity assessment in modernizing and repairing structures integral to the U.S. economy.

Speakers on three panel discussions will focus on the role of standards and conformity assessment related to:

- Resilience: repairing, rebuilding, and replacing aging infrastructure

- Modernizing and extending the life of infrastructure; transferring research to practices that support innovative new materials, technologies, and processes

- Continuous monitoring of the built environment, including failure analysis and risk management.

S. Joe Bhatia, ANSI president and CEO, will kick-off the event. The lineup of speakers is set to include representatives of ANSI members and standards developers ASTM International, IAPMO, the International Code Council (ICC), NEMA, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), NSF International, the American Petroleum Institute (API), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and UL.

The event flyer with speaker names and information is available.
