People on the Move

11/16/2012
People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards community.

NSF International, an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) member and audited designator, has appointed Clif McLellan as the vice president of its global water division. NSF International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the protection of food, water, and indoor air through standards development, product certification, and education.

Mr. McLellan has more than 18 years of experience with NSF International, including 12 years as its director of toxicology, where his work focused on helping industries and regulatory bodies worldwide to safeguard public drinking water and water-based products. He has conducted risk assessments for the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and water-related research for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and played a major role in creating the NSF Green Chemistry Program, which is associated with the EPA's Design for the Environment program. Mr. McLellan received a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Eastern Michigan University and earned his master's in toxicology at the University of Michigan.

The Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association (BIFMA) International, an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, has named Lisa Young as its chief marketing officer. Ms. Young is the first person to hold this newly created position.

Ms. Young previously served as the president of the American Marketing Association of West Michigan and has worked as a volunteer for a number of charitable groups, including the American Heart Association and the March of Dimes. She is a graduate of Grand Valley State University and participated in both the Center for Community Leadership's Rising Women Leaders program and the Woodrick Diversity Learning Center's Institute for Healing Racism program.

BIFMA International, a nonprofit organization representing business and institutional furniture makers, has worked since 1973 to develop voluntary industry standards that will support safe, healthy, and sustainable environments.
