ANSI and Members to Provide In-Depth Look at China's Reform Activities

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) will host an online webinar focused on recent developments in Chinese conformity assessment on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST. The webinar is open to all ANSI members.

China has been actively reforming its accreditation and certification landscape since 2018. Some notable changes include the elimination of some market access requirements enforced on foreign certification bodies and the strengthening of bilateral and mutual recognition mechanisms. Last year, China also announced its plan to revise its Regulation on Certification and Accreditation in 2020. In light of these developments, ANSI has placed a high priority on keeping members up-to-date on these changes as well as providing the opportunity to discuss information gaps or other questions that will help members ensure all activities are compliant with new regulations and policies.

The webinar is an opportunity for stakeholders to share experiences and lessons learned. The agenda for the meeting will include a Q&A session for interactive dialogue to discuss upcoming engagement opportunities and challenges. Some topics include:

  • A snapshot of China's certification and accreditation reform activities
  • Key stakeholders and China's certification landscape
  • Highlights from the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China (CNCA)'s annual work plan
  • Implications for the U.S. industry and stakeholders

This meeting will be conducted virtually only, and Webex information will be provided with registration. Interested stakeholders can email Jordan Strickler ([email protected]) to register, or to ask any questions.
