Upcoming SES Webinar to Focus on NFPA's New Technology Applications
The next webinar hosted by SES - The Society for Standards Professionals will focus on a range of interactive digital products that support the National Fire Protection Association's (NFPA's) content strategies and business models. The event will feature NFPA product manager Angela Burke, and is scheduled for February 18 2015, from 1:00 to 2:30 pm ET.

PHI Protection Network to Hold Data Protection Conference on February 19
The PHI Protection Network (PPN) has announced that it will hold a conference on approaches to safeguarding protected health information (PHI). The third-annual PHI Protection Network Conference will bring together senior privacy, compliance, and security officers to share best practices in managing and protecting healthcare data, with actionable takeaways for healthcare organizations. Hundreds of attendees are expected to attend, including compliance executives, healthcare providers, and representatives of government, legal, and technology organizations.

New Report by The Vision Council Sheds Light on Risk of Eye Strain
The Vision Council, an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, has released a new report indicating that the vast majority of Americans are at risk for digital eye strain. Nearly 95 percent of Americans spend two or more hours each day on digital devices, the report found, which can lead to irritated and dry eyes, blurred vision, eye fatigue, and headaches - all characteristics of digital eye strain.

The report provides data on digital device use for each generation, including Millennials, Gen Xers, and Boomers, as well as children. It also includes suggestions on how to relieve digital eye strain and maintain healthy vision.

William Frick & Co., customer-driven manufacturer of printed products, has submitted an application for accreditation as an ANSI Accredited Standards Developer (SDO) and proposed operating procedures for documenting consensus on William Frick & Co. -sponsored ANS. William Frick & Co.'s proposed scope of standards activity is standards related to design and layout for the manufacturing of labels, tags, and identification products.
