The Nuclear Energy Standards Coordination Collaborative (NESCC), a joint initiative of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the U.S. Department of Commerce (DoC)'s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), will hold its next meeting from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Monday, November 3, 2014, at ANSI Headquarters (1899 L Street, NW, 11th floor) in Washington, DC.
NESCC meetings focus on identifying and responding to the current needs of the nuclear industry, and the standards that can facilitate its growth and development. During the November 3 meeting, participants will hear updates from ANSI member and accredited standards developer ASME about its Small Modular Reactor (SMR) Roadmap and from ANSI member and accredited standards developer the American Concrete Institute (ACI) regarding its ongoing standards activities, and take part in discussions related to nuclear standardization, among other activities.
The November 3 meeting is open to all interested U.S. and international stakeholders, including government legislative and regulatory bodies, industry, standards developing organizations, and certification organizations. Attendance at the meeting is free of charge, but advance registration is required for both in-person and teleconference participants due to space constraints. All participants must register online by Monday, October 27, 2014.
