ANSI and China Quality Certification Centre to Host Seminar on CCC Requirements for Electrical Equipment and Vehicle Components

Manufacturers doing business in China have likely encountered the China Compulsory Certification (CCC) requirements, which impact roughly 20 percent of all products entering the Chinese market, including electrical equipment and components for motor vehicles. Since the first implementation of the CCC regime in 2003, many of the relevant Chinese national standards have been updated and the rules for CCC have changed. Significant revisions took place in 2009 and 2010 in accordance with an order from the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the Peoples' Republic of China (AQSIQ).

In order to help U.S. companies better understand the changes to the CCC rules and procedures and address common technical issues associated with the application process, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has partnered with the China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) to organize a training seminar to be held in New York on September 27, 2011. CQC is one of the largest designated certification bodies authorized by the Chinese government to perform CCC certification. Sponsored by Intertek, the seminar will include speakers from CQC and the Certification and Accreditation Administration of China (CNCA).

Presentations will focus specifically on the requirements for electrical equipment (including information technology, audiovisual, and telecommunications) and motor vehicle components. In addition, experts from CQC will discuss the factory inspection process and address questions from participants. The full agenda is available here.
