USNC/IEC to Host Training Workshop on International Standardization and Conformity Assessment on January 11

Free Event Focuses on Tools, Procesesses, and Procedures

The U.S. National Committee of theInternational Electrotechnical Commission (USNC/IEC) will host a training workshop on tools, processes, and procedures for standardization and conformity assessment at Sony Electronics Inc. in San Diego on January 11, 2016. The free event is the third session of a continuing series of IEC roundtable discussions and training workshops. The USNC/IEC, an integrated committee of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), serves as the U.S. member body to the IEC.

Peter Lanctot of the IEC Regional Centre for North America will administer the course, which will include break-out sessions on IEC Standardization Processes, Improving IEC Tools and Services, and Improving Participation in Standardization in the U.S.

Lunch will be provided. All interested stakeholders can register by emailing Tony Zertuche, USNC Deputy General Secretary, at [email protected] no later than December 18.

About the USNC/IEC
The U.S. National Committee of the International Electrotechnical Commission (USNC/IEC) serves as the focal point for U.S. parties who are interested in the development, promulgation, and use of globally-relevant standards for the electrotechnical industry. The Committee is also engaged in the assessment of conformance to standards, undertaking work in areas such as testing, certification, and accreditation. As the U.S. representative to the IEC and many related regional standardization bodies, the USNC/IEC serves as a conduit to the global standards-setting community for technical and policy positions arising in the U.S. and brings issues from the global arena to the U.S. for review, consideration, and response.
