Help Send ITI to SXSW 2020
This year, the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI), an ANSI member, has the opportunity to participate in South By Southwest 2020 with three proposed panel discussions: Importance of Standards in the Global & Political Debate; Increasing Resiliency & Citizen Safety With Tech; and Tech Procurement: Enabling Smart Governance in DC. The proposed standards panel will outline why standards are integral to leadership in innovation and what nations must do to ensure consumers' needs are met. Panelists include ITI president and CEO Jason Oxman, ANSI vice president for government relations and public policy Mary Saunders, ITI senior director of policy (Asia) Naomi Wilson, and NIST senior policy advisor of standards and digitization Ajit Jillavenkatesa.

AAMI Video Honors Healthcare Technology Management Workers' Efforts in CA Wildfire
The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI), an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, has produced a new video tribute to the heroic work of healthcare technology management (HTM) professionals in the midst of a wildfire in California last year.

In November 2018, the fire descended on the Adventist Hospital Feather River. No ambulances or emergency responders were able to get to the hospital, and the HTM team reacted quickly to gather wheelchairs and use them to evacuate patients with private vehicles.

"There was no hesitation," Rob Harry, site director of clinical engineering at the hospital, says in the video. "I didn't think of anything except getting our job done and getting the patients out."
