ANSI Seeks Input on Upcoming ISO Strategic Plan

6/04/2014

Survey on Proposed ISO 2016-2020 Strategy Document Now Open with Online Registration

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has created an online survey designed to allow U.S. stakeholders to provide their input on the International Organization for Standardization (ISO)'s proposed Strategic Plan for 2016-2020. As the U.S. national member body to ISO, ANSI is working to coordinate national input regarding this document, which will guide ISO priorities and activities over a five-year span. The current plan, ISO Strategic Plan 2011-2015 - Solutions to Global Challenges, was approved by ISO in 2010 [see related article].

To encourage its call for input, ISO has now developed a Consultation for the ISO Strategic Plan 2016-2020 for review by its national member bodies. In order to assist this work, ANSI will collect information from U.S. stakeholders using the new survey and will hold a series of related webinars. The first webinar was held on May 19 [see related article], and an additional webinar is expected to be held by ANSI in July to provide an opportunity for discussion of a completed draft of ANSI's official response to ISO's call for feedback.

To take part in the entire review and input process - including the online survey and future planned webinars - you must register online. Participation is free for ANSI members and $50 for non-members. All individuals who register online will also receive online access to the official recording of the May 19 webinar.

All questions about the survey, webinars, and related topics should be directed to Steven Cornish, ANSI senior program director for international policy (212.642.4969; [email protected]).
