People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards community.

The American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA), an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) member and accredited standards developer, has announced the appointment of Rich Rinka as the organization's technical/industry affairs manager and Jason Seals as its certification manager. In his new position, Mr. Rinka will provide technical expertise to AAMA members, serve as AAMA's technical spokesperson at meetings of affiliated industry groups, and carry out reviews of AAMA's technical documents. Mr. Seals will be responsible for directing all certification activities for AAMA and will directly oversee the AAMA air, water, and structural Gold Label Certification Program, among other responsibilities.

Prior to his promotion, Mr. Rinka worked as AAMA's certification manager, a position he held for two years. He has also held positions at Volatile Free Inc. and Henkel, among others. Before joining AAMA, Mr. Seals worked as senior manager, product testing and certification programs, at Atrium Corporation, and served as project manager for Architectural Testing Inc., among other positions. Mr. Rinka received his bachelor of science degree in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin - River Falls and his MBA in business administration from the Keller Graduate School of Management. Mr. Seals earned his bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of Texas.

AAMA is a trade association representing manufacturers and professionals in the residential and commercial fenestration industry. The group carries out work to bolster fenestration-related performance standards and address regulatory issues affecting the industry at large, among other efforts.
