3/09/2020

Measures Address Meeting Modes and Participation

Updated March 9, 2020: In view of the significant health risks posed by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)a public health emergency of international concernthe American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has put in place several precautions, effective until further notice. The precautions are consistent with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) recommendations for strategies that businesses might implement to protect their employees, members and guests.

For the foreseeable future and until further notice:

1) ANSI is making virtual attendance available for all upcoming meetings and conferences that are scheduled to be hosted by or in the facilities of ANSI and its affiliates, the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) and Workcred.

2) In addition, no individuals will be permitted to attend ANSI, ANAB, or Workcred meetings in person if they believe they have been in contact with anyone who has been exposed to COVID-19. This includes contact with individuals who have traveled through the CDC-published at-risk locations as well as places in the United States, such as Seattle, WA and New Rochelle, NY. Such individuals will be permitted to attend remotely (technology permitting). We are also making such remote attendance an option for any attendee who chooses not to attend in person.

Please note that the Risk Assessment Level 1-3 localities are listed on the CDC's website.

ANSI is closely monitoring developments relating to COVID-19 and will issue additional announcements as circumstances evolve.

The health and safety of our employees, members, and guests are our top priority. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
