World RV Conference to Highlight Standards for Recreational Vehicles and Campgrounds
The Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA), a member and accredited standards developer of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), will host the second annual World RV Conference in Tampa, Florida, on January 17-20, 2013. The event will include workshops on "World Product Standards" and "World Campground Standards," as well as a lineup of interactive meetings, presentations, tours, and celebrations. Also featured is a keynote address by Marco Annunziata, chief economist and executive director of global market insights at GE. A full agenda is available here.

CSW Leads Discussion on Reducing the Skills Gap through Sector Strategies
ANSI member the Corporation for a Skilled Workforce (CSW) will present an audio conference to share lessons learned and future implications for state policy makers on connecting education and training programs with industry needs. Hosted in partnership with the National Skills Coalition and the National Governors Association, "Audio Update: Role of State Sector Strategies" will be held on Tuesday, September 25, at 1 pm ET.

The presentation will feature experts from the field who have championed "sector partnerships" in their states by enacting policies, leading cross-stakeholder efforts, or otherwise giving voice to the importance of helping workers and businesses gain the skills needed to rebuild the U.S. economy. SAE International Offers Webcast on EV Modeling
SAE International, an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, will broadcast a web presentation on math-based modeling for electric vehicles (EV) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). "Mathematics-Based Modeling of a Series-Hybrid Electric Vehicle," developed by SAE's Automotive Engineering International magazine, will be held Thursday, September 27, at 10 am ET.

Industry experts will present new approaches to modeling and simulation for HEV and EV vehicle applications, with an emphasis on the development of high-fidelity physical models of automotive batteries. For more information or to register, click here.

SteelDay 2012 Promotes Knowledge and Networking in the Steel Industry
ANSI member the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) will lead the celebration of SteelDay 2012 on September 28. Celebrated nationwide, SteelDay is the largest educational and networking event for the steel industry, and encourages local and national steel companies and related industry organizations to open their doors to the public. Through free facility tours and outreach events, SteelDay gives steel industry professionals, customers, vendors, and interested visitors the opportunity to experience high-tech machinery and processes first hand and share perspectives.
