ASHRAE iPhone App Facilitates Calculating Ventilation Rates
The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), a member and audited designator of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has developed an iPhone application with an interactive calculation spreadsheet related to ASHRAE's ventilation standard.

The ASHRAE Standard 62.1 app performs the outdoor air calculations found in the Ventilation Rate Procedure and the interactive 62MZCalc spreadsheets contained in the ASHRAE User's Manual for Standard 62.1, Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality. It can be used on Apple's iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.

ACS Offers Podcasts on Chemistry Solutions to Global Challenges
The American Chemical Society (ACS), an ANSI organizational member, has several free podcasts available to all interested stakeholders detailing global challenges and the solutions made possible through chemistry.

Topics covered by the series include diagnosing pneumonia to promote public health; decomposing plastics using ultraviolet light, heat, and fungi; an inhalable powder that vaccinates against the measles; and more.

GREENGUARD Virtual Home Tour Educates Viewers on Indoor Air Pollution
A new interactive, animated house tour offered online by GREENGUARD, an ANSI member, informs viewers on sources of and solutions to indoor air pollution.

The tool allows viewers to virtually walk through a family home, including a fully-equipped kitchen, living room, den, bathroom, master bedroom, and nursery, as well as a basement that's undergoing renovation. Each room is furnished with common household products and materials that are known to emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The user can then mouse over the various products to learn more about their chemical emissions and discover easy solutions.
