People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards community.

The Aerospace Industries Association (AIA), an organizational member of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has announced the appointment of William Greenwalt as vice president of acquisition policy. Mr. Greenwalt will focus on government procurement public policy strategies for AIA.

Mr. Greenwalt brings tremendous experience in both government and industry to the association. Previously, he was deputy director for the surveys and investigations staff of the House Appropriations Committee, providing bipartisan support for committee oversight activities. Mr. Greenwalt also served as the director of federal acquisition policy with Lockheed Martin where he was responsible for developing and implementing the corporation's strategy with respect to government acquisition policy matters. Prior to joining Lockheed Martin, Mr. Greenwalt served as the deputy undersecretary of defense industrial policy where he was the principal advisor to the undersecretary of defense for acquisition.

Mr. Greenwalt is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach and is pursuing a doctorate in public policy at the University of Maryland.

AIA is a non-profit organization comprised of aerospace and defense companies, suppliers, and manufacturers that offer high-technology services from commercial aviation and avionics, to manned and unmanned defense systems, to space technologies and satellite communications. AIA membership includes manufacturers and suppliers of civil, military, and business aircraft, helicopters, space systems, aircraft engines, missiles, materiel and related components, equipment, services, and information technology.
