People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards community.

BICSI, an organizational member and accredited standards developer of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has announced the appointment of Paul Weintraub to the position of director of global development and support. Mr. Weintraub will be responsible for implementing business plans to promote BICSI's strategic plan and core products and services around the world.

Mr. Weintraub previously worked at Panasonic as group manager-IP channel, security systems group. His prior positions include regional sales manager at Sumitomo and market development and sales roles at Anixter.

Mr. Weintraub holds both the BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer® (RCDD®) and Electronic Safety & Security (ESS) Specialist credentials. He earned a master of business administration degree from Rollins University and a bachelor's of science from New Hampshire University.

BICSI , a membership association for the information technology systems (ITS) industry, provides information, education, and knowledge assessment for individuals and companies in the ITS industry. BICSI serves more than 23,000 ITS professionals, including designers, installers, and technicians, who provide the fundamental infrastructure for telecommunications, audio/video, life safety, and automation systems.


ANSI organizational member and accredited standards developer the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has named Molly Mowery as associate project manager of its Firewise program. Ms. Mowery will assist NFPA in engaging state and local governments and residents about Firewise activities and wildfire safety issues.

Ms. Mowery brings a background in national land use planning and international project management to NFPA. Her previous positions include community planner at CSA International, information designer at Q Digital Studio, and associate director at Cairns Intersphere Consulting. She holds a master's degree in city planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where her thesis was focused on wildfire and planning in the Front Range region of Colorado, and a bachelor of arts in psychology from Naropa University.

NFPA's Firewise Communities program encourages local solutions for wildfire safety by involving homeowners, community leaders, planners, developers, firefighters, and others in the effort to protect people and property from the risk of wildfire. The program is co-sponsored by the USDA Forest Service, the U.S. Department of the Interior, and the National Association of State Foresters.
